TCL Unveils New Generation SQD Mini-LED Display Technology at CES 2026
TCL returns to CES 2026 with the launch of the industry leading advancement, SQD-Mini LED Technology, and other flagship innovations. Built on more than a decade of research, these advancements reflect TCL’s commitment to creating picture quality that feels richer, more precise, and more consistent for global consumers.
TCL has shaped the direction of Mini LED display technology since introducing the world’s first QD-Mini LED TV in 2019. At CES 2026, TCL will demonstrate how the category has developed through improvements in backlight precision, panel structure, and intelligent image processing. Visitors will also see the latest CSOT HVA, a wide-angle panel technology designed to deliver stronger contrast and better off angle viewing for everyone in the room, reinforcing TCL’s holistic approach to TV technology.

SQD-Mini LED: Powering TCL’s 8th‑Generation Leap in Mini LED Brilliance
TCL's new SQD-Mini LED range is its most advanced Mini LED technology to date. It integrates TCL’s Deep Color System, which delivers a wider spectrum of color and enhanced contrast to all content. SQD-Mini LED refines how light is filtered at the color level, reducing color crosstalk and maintaining stable color accuracy even in complex, colorful scenes. Working in tandem with the TCL Halo Control System which effectively minimizes the halo effect seen around bright objects on dark backgrounds, the SQD-Mini LED line keeps contrast clean and controlled even in well-lit rooms, creating a more immersive viewing experience. The range also comes with a Google Gemini Interactive AI integration, giving people total control to create a personalized entertainment experience. All of this is delivered within a slimmer design at less than 0.8 inches in depth intended to sit naturally in modern living spaces.
Compared with previous generations, the upgraded panel structure and color filtration enable a significantly wider and more stable color range, with up to a 33% boost in color gamut performance and a 69% improvement in color dot accuracy through its evolved Super QLED layer. This creates a picture that remains stable at high brightness levels, preserves shadows more accurately, and maintains color. The result is an image that feels more lifelike and consistent, especially in scenes where bright highlights and darkness appear together.
